In May 2026, La Plata, Argentina, witnessed a series of antisemitic attacks targeting Jewish institutions. On May 3, the Delegation of Argentine Jewish Associations (DAIA) reported an assault on the Chabad Lubavitch center. Shortly after, on May 17, a 57-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attacking the Max Nordau Library and the Beit Jabad synagogue with incendiary devices. These incidents are part of a broader trend in Argentina, where 713 antisemitic events were recorded in 2025, a 3.78% increase from the previous year. Despite these events, the Israeli government maintains a 'safe to travel' status for Argentina, advising travelers to exercise normal precautions....
