Having lived in South Africa for the past 18 years of my life, I can honestly say that I have always felt completely safe as a Jew. I have never personally experienced a single antisemitic incident in my city, not even a minor one. South Africa has a large, vibrant and established Jewish community

ב 16 בספטמבר 2026 קבוצת תיירים ישראלים שביקרה במסעדת Jacky בלימונה סול גארדה הותקפה מילולית ע"י אחד המלצרים שאמר להם: "אתם חיות, אתם הורגים ילדים", לאחר שביקשו את סיסמת ה-Wi-Fi. לאחר שהתלוננו על הדברים הם הוצאו מהמסעדה, והמשטרה שהגיעה למקום התנצלה בפניהם.

I traveled inconspicuously in Tuscany and Umbria for two weeks, visited a few Jewish sites (Pistigliano had Italian police guards at the synagogue) and saw two small Palestinian posters in shop windows in the entire region. I saw one gay flag the entire time.

There is antisemitic and anti-israel graffiti all over the place, with a “Heil Hitler” written on a wall in the main corner of the shopping area. The authorities don’t seem to care.

So I was at this place called Študentski kampus, I got greeted by a relatively large fellow who claimed to be president of the Student organization of the University in Ljubljana. He bought drinks, offered me some other substances and then asked me where I'm from. I told him I'm from Israel. Suddenly, the whole vibe shifted. The music stopped, and everyone was looking at me. The until-then friendly president (I think his name was Klemen Petek) screamed something in Slovenian, which I assume mean
