Stay alert, keep symbols hidden, don’t identify as Jewish or Israeli
Milan has seen a concerning rise in antisemitic incidents over the past year. On September 16, 2026, a 60-year-old rabbi was kicked, punched and spat on by three men while waiting for a bus in the Bande Nere area after being recognized as Jewish by his attire; one suspect has been arrested for religiously motivated violence and the Israeli Embassy in Rome condemned the attack. In March 2026, two Jewish Argentine tourists were attacked outside a supermarket by a group of youths for wearing kippahs, leaving one with a broken nose; in April 2026 members of the Jewish community were harassed and expelled from the Liberation Day parade by pro-Palestinian protesters; and in May and July 2026 antisemitic graffiti defaced a Hebrew inscription on Via Vetruvio and a mural honoring Anne Frank and Primo Levi. Milan records the highest number of antisemitic incidents among identifiable locations in Italy. Given the repeated violent assaults and the Israeli government's advisory to exercise increased caution in Italy, travelers should remain vigilant....

ב 29 באוגוסט 2026 (שבת) הייתה הפגנה של כמה עשרות אנשים במילאנו "נגד הציונות ורצח העם בעזה". כמו כן נשמעו קריאות לשחרור פלסטינים עצורים באיטליה ששמם נקשר בסיוע לחמאס. בהפגנה השתתף מתמודד לראשות עיריית מילאנו.

ב 8 ביולי 2026 אדם קפץ בלילה מגג הקתדרלה במילאנו (דואמו) עם מצנח בצבעי דגל פלסטין. הסרטון פורסם לראשונה בטיק טוק בחשבון ערבי. תושאל ע"י המשטרה במקום. נכון לעכשיו לא דווח על ענישה.

ב 25 ביוני 2025 ניתלו שלטים באיזורים היהודיים של מילאנו שאומרים "Israeli not welcome" העיריה הסירה אותם. המשטרה תשאלה 6 חשודים שמצאו עליהם את הפוסטרים האלה. לא דווח על כל פעולת ענישה.

במאי 2026 זוהה שלט "ישראלים ציונים אינם רצויים כאן" בעברית על דלת חנות לכלי תפירה במילאנו. חבר מועצה יהודי הגיש תלונה ובעלי העסק הסירו את השלט.
