A community member who spends part of each year in Parma reports that a "Free Palestine" banner has hung on the city's publicly owned opera house for roughly two years, to the exclusion of any other banners, and that pro-Palestinian messaging including the Palestinian flag was incorporated into one of the theatre's performances. The report also refers to an upcoming trial over the confrontation with members of the Jewish Brigade, who were pushed out of a recent civic commemoration parade in the city.

I traveled around Italy for two weeks, visiting Lake Como, Lake Garda, Milan, and the Dolomites. We explored the country by car and often stopped in small towns along the way. It was quite common to see Palestinian flags hanging from balconies in many of these places. In general, there were many Arabs in the areas around Lake Como and Lake Garda. I always walk around with my David star necklace, and luckily I didn’t have any trouble around it... Many italians love Israel and so telling them you’re Jewish or Israeli really isn’t a concern...
