On September 25, police searched 17 people across Italy, including 14 minors, in a neo-Nazi network investigation; authorities said members had discussed attacks including on a synagogue and shared bomb-making instructions. On September 16, a rabbi was beaten and spat on at a bus stop in Milan after being recognized by his religious clothing; suspects were identified and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the attack. In August, a French Jewish tourist wearing a kippah was assaulted twice in two days in Rome. Italy recorded 401 antisemitic incidents in the first half of 2026, still about three times the 2019–2022 average, and Italy suspended its defense agreement with Israel in April 2026. ב 16 בספטמבר 2026 קבוצת תיירים ישראלים שביקרה במסעדת Jacky בלימונה סול גארדה הותקפה מילולית ע"י אחד המלצרים שאמר להם: "אתם חיות, אתם הורגים ילדים", לאחר שביקשו את סיסמת ה-Wi-Fi. לאחר שהתלוננו על הדברים הם הוצאו מהמסעדה, והמשטרה שהגיעה למקום התנצלה בפניהם.

I traveled inconspicuously in Tuscany and Umbria for two weeks, visited a few Jewish sites (Pistigliano had Italian police guards at the synagogue) and saw two small Palestinian posters in shop windows in the entire region. I saw one gay flag the entire time.

ב 29 באוגוסט 2026 (שבת) הייתה הפגנה של כמה עשרות אנשים במילאנו "נגד הציונות ורצח העם בעזה". כמו כן נשמעו קריאות לשחרור פלסטינים עצורים באיטליה ששמם נקשר בסיוע לחמאס. בהפגנה השתתף מתמודד לראשות עיריית מילאנו.
