I traveled around Italy for two weeks, visiting Lake Como, Lake Garda, Milan, and the Dolomites. We explored the country by car and often stopped in small towns along the way. It was quite common to see Palestinian flags hanging from balconies in many of these places. In general, there were many Arabs in the areas around Lake Como and Lake Garda. I always walk around with my David star necklace, and luckily I didn’t have any trouble around it... Many italians love Israel and so telling them you’re Jewish or Israeli really isn’t a concern...

(General disclaimer that I wasn’t wearing anything to make me visibly Jewish) The only place I ever felt concerned or unsafe in was Genoa. Otherwise I felt pretty safe.
