I have lived in Costa Rica since Jan. 2026. I feel safe here as a woman, a Jew, and as an American. We have 4 synagogues in the San Jose area that observe security practices similar to what I found in Europe. All are very welcoming once you share your ID. There are many Israelis here too.

My second visit to Costa Rica. We just returned from 8 days in Guanacaste and Las Catalinas. I did not see “Palestine” flags, which is a positive indicator.
