In the past year, Croatia has experienced isolated incidents involving hate speech and controversial events. In August 2026, three human rights organizations filed complaints over alleged hate speech during the VRO Oluja commemoration in Knin, citing incitement to violence and the use of Ustaše symbols. Additionally, singer Jelena Karleuša's scheduled concert in Vodice was canceled due to public backlash over her past statements. Nazi-era graffiti appeared in Rijeka in December 2025. These events have raised concerns about the presence of extremist elements in the country. However, there is no evidence of systemic antisemitic violence or widespread hostility toward Jewish or Israeli travelers.
