On September 2, graffiti in central Oslo near Jernbanetorget was reported to have been replaced with text wishing death to the Israel Defense Forces; the municipality covered it over, though the report was not independently corroborated by mainstream coverage. Earlier, Oslo saw graffiti equating Zionism with terrorism, which was initially permitted by municipal authorities. Norwegian Jewish leaders have also raised concerns about a proposed law criminalizing trade with Israeli settlements, adding to anxiety in the local Jewish community.
