Recent reports indicate a slight decrease in antisemitic incidents in Montgomery County, Maryland, with 121 incidents in 2025 compared to 196 in 2024. However, the county still accounted for two-thirds of Maryland's reported antisemitic incidents. Notably, in May 2026, antisemitic graffiti was found at Greenwood Elementary School, and in February 2026, a synagogue was defaced with a swastika. Additionally, a Silver Spring synagogue filed a federal lawsuit against Montgomery County over a firearms ban, citing concerns about self-defense. Despite these incidents, the Israeli government maintains a "safe to travel" status for the United States, advising travelers to exercise normal precautions....
