Jewish/Israeli symbols should be kept to a minimum
In the past year, Santa Monica has experienced several antisemitic incidents. In May 2026, an assault occurred near 3rd Street and Broadway, where a man allegedly set his dog on a Jewish couple; the Santa Monica Police Department did not classify this as a hate crime. In August 2025, an Israeli man was attacked near the Santa Monica Pier during a pro-Gaza demonstration. Graffiti featuring swastikas and antisemitic messages has also previously been discovered in the city. Despite these incidents, the Israeli government maintains a travel advisory of "safe to travel" for the United States, and the safety level for Jewish and Israeli travelers in Santa Monica is assessed as "caution."...
