Jewish/Israeli symbols should be kept to a minimum
On September 21, a neighbor shouted antisemitic insults at Jewish worshippers gathered for Yom Kippur in a synagogue in Uccle, Brussels. Brussels officials condemned the incident; reports describe verbal abuse, not physical violence. Belgian authorities now attribute the March 2026 explosion outside a Liège synagogue to Iran, and the army has been deployed under Operation Green Shield to protect Jewish institutions in Brussels. Jewish and Israeli travelers should remain alert around synagogues and other Jewish community sites, especially during services and holidays, and follow local security guidance....

when my Dad went to Brussels, he was told not to wear his kippah walking to shul because people might throw things at him.

I never encountered anti semitism in Brussels and most of my friends are part of the Arabic community.
