In the past year, Calgary has recorded antisemitic and hate-motivated incidents against the backdrop of a broader national trend: antisemitic incidents in Canada reached a record 6,800 in 2025, a 9.4% increase over 2024. In February 2026, an altercation outside a place of worship led to charges of assault with a weapon, and in August 2026 a hate-motivated assault took place at a CTrain station. The Calgary Jewish Federation continues to work against hate and antisemitism, offering reporting resources and collaborating with national authorities, and Mayor Jeromy Farkas emphasized his commitment to fighting antisemitism in his inaugural address in December 2025.
