On September 27, Waterloo Regional Police said a 33-year-old Kitchener man had been charged with hate-motivated threats to kill members of the Jewish community. Elsewhere in Ontario, police also arrested a Whitby man over an alleged synagogue shooting threat, and Belleville police described a September 20 synagogue shooting as a targeted antisemitic attack; Waterloo police said they knew of no threat or connection to the region.
