Jewish/Israeli symbols should be kept to a minimum
In the past year, Victoria, British Columbia, saw a significant antisemitic incident in which a Jewish teenager was verbally abused and assaulted at a Scouts event in February 2026. Nationally, B'nai Brith Canada documented 6,800 antisemitic incidents in 2025, a 9.4% increase from 2024, and violent incidents have risen sharply in 2026. The Israeli government's travel advisory for Canada remains 'be cautious when traveling.' Given the local incident and the national trend, Jewish and Israeli travelers in Victoria should exercise increased vigilance and stay informed about local developments....
