In the past year, Copenhagen has experienced a persistently high level of antisemitic incidents, with 199 documented cases in 2025, marking the third consecutive year of elevated antisemitism in Denmark. Notably, a 39-year-old Jewish woman was attacked in March 2025 for displaying an Israeli flag, highlighting the normalization of such hostility. The Danish government has acknowledged this trend, with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen condemning rising antisemitism during a Kristallnacht commemoration in November 2025. Not much. It was a highly antisemitic place. As an Israeli it was the first place I felt that I was chased down the street. There was a pro-Palestinian rally when I was in the gardens. We stopped speaking Hebrew the rest of the trip.
