Jewish/Israeli symbols should be kept to a minimum
In the past year, Nice has experienced several incidents affecting Jewish and Israeli communities. In August 2026, the prefect of Alpes-Maritimes banned a performance by Dieudonné M’Bala M’Bala, citing a serious risk of public disorder and potential criminal offenses due to the artist's history of antisemitic remarks. In September 2025, a letter containing racist and antisemitic insults, along with death threats against Mayor Christian Estrosi, was deposited in a municipal office. Additionally, in September 2025, three pro-Palestinian activists were detained after attempting to enter a synagogue while allegedly making antisemitic remarks and engaging in violent behavior. These events, combined with the Israeli government's travel advisory urging travelers to exercise increased caution in France, suggest a heightened level of risk for Jewish and Israeli visitors in Nice....
