In August 2026, two Israeli teenagers were chased and verbally attacked in Kotor, Montenegro, after revealing their nationality. The incident occurred at a local casino when the teens were approached by a man who, upon learning they were from Israel, allegedly became aggressive and was later joined by a group of approximately 15 individuals. The attackers shouted "Jews, Jews!" as they pursued the teens through the streets. This event is part of a broader trend of rising hostility toward Israelis and Jews in Montenegro, with similar incidents reported in other towns such as Budva and Plav. Despite these occurrences, Montenegro maintains diplomatic relations with Israel and has a small Jewish community.
