In July 2026, Montenegro experienced two significant antisemitic incidents involving Israeli tourists. In Budva, a group of Israelis was attacked by over ten young men, leaving one victim with a broken jaw and another unconscious from the severity of the beating. Earlier in July, in Plav, Israeli tourists were verbally harassed by locals with derogatory remarks accusing them of genocide. These events raised concerns among the local Jewish community and prompted discussions with government representatives about rising antisemitism. Montenegro maintains diplomatic relations with Israel and has a small Jewish community, and the Israeli government has not issued a travel warning for the country. Given the violent assaults on Israeli visitors, the safety level is assessed as 'caution'....
