Jewish/Israeli symbols should be kept to a minimum
In the past year, Ceuta has experienced a significant increase in antisemitic activity, particularly on social media. Following the mass migration in July 2026, nearly 9,600 hate posts were detected over two days, a notable portion targeting Jewish communities. A report also found that 173 posts from 119 influencer accounts on X recast the European border emergency as a Jewish plot, reaching an estimated 103.1 million people in 72 hours. More broadly, hate-related offences in Ceuta rose 23.6% in 2025 over the previous year, at 10.77 offences per 100,000 inhabitants, the third-highest rate nationally, while Spain as a whole saw an 86.5% rise in antisemitic offences. No physical violence specifically targeting Jews or Israelis has been reported in Ceuta. The Israeli government's travel advisory for Spain remains 'be cautious when traveling', and travelers should exercise heightened vigilance....
