On September 20, about two dozen protesters gathered outside Toronto’s Meridian Arts Centre during a Yom Kippur service, chanting pro-Palestinian slogans; attendees reported taunts and intimidation. In nearby Whitby, police charged a man with an alleged hate-motivated threat to shoot a synagogue. In Belleville, about 175 km east of Toronto, police classified a Yom Kippur shooting outside a synagogue as a targeted antisemitic attack; an officer was wounded and worshippers were unharmed. Police increased patrols at Jewish sites across the Greater Toronto Area. Avoid demonstrations near Jewish events and follow local security guidance....
