On September 22, police said they had disrupted a suspected plot to attack Manchester’s Jewish community after arresting two men days before Yom Kippur; searches also took place in Salford and Liverpool. Police believed the plot could have been imminent but said there was no ongoing public threat connected to the case, and Greater Manchester Police increased patrols around Jewish communities for the High Holy Days. The community is still living with the aftermath of the October 2025 terror attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, in which two people were killed, and UK antisemitic incidents rose 21% in the first half of 2026 to 1,926 cases. The Israeli government advises increased caution when visiting the UK; stay alert, follow local police guidance, and check for updates, especially near Jewish sites and during religious events....
