RIAS recorded 8,725 antisemitic incidents nationwide in Germany in 2025. Anti-Israel demonstrations and concerns about antisemitism continue alongside heightened security at Jewish institutions. In early October in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, youths repeatedly pepper-sprayed and beat a 67-year-old shopkeeper and damaged his shop’s door after he displayed posters against antisemitism. On September 17 in Wuppertal, a man allegedly attempted to set fire to a synagogue and made antisemitic comments to police. On October 15, a Hamburg court sentenced two men over a plot to kill a Jewish community leader, finding one had acted under Iran’s intelligence service. Avoid demonstrations, follow local police and security guidance, and remain alert around Jewish sites. Israel’s government classifies Germany as medium threat and advises increased precautions....
